The 3 C’s of Cologne, Germany: Cathedrals, Clubs, and Chocolate

From Cologne…smells good by 2dimmples
Cologne, Germany is a hotspot for travel, business, nightlife, and culture, and one of the RealTravel community’s favorite destinations. The Karneval (Winter Festival) attracts over 1.5 million fun-seekers each February, and Christopher Street Day, the city’s annual Gay Pride Festival brings in the crowds too with colorful parades, live music, and great food.
RealTraveler 2dimmples recently enjoyed the culture and nightlife that’s available in Cologne every day of the year. She climbed to the top of the pristinely gorgeous Cologne Cathedral and took in astounding views of the city. She also had a fun night dancing and taking advantage of cheap drink specials at the local Cent Club. One of 2dimmple’s favorite places in Cologne, though, was the famed Chocolate Museum where rich melted chocolate flows from fountains and delectable smells fill the air.
Here’s what 2dimmples wrote about her heavenly experience at the Cologne Chocolate Museum:
“Later we thought we would counteract the exercise we did with a little chocolate…ummm okay a lot of chocolate :) Perched along the Rhein is a large building that has huge bay windows that people walking by can look into…in one of these windows was the biggest fountain of chocolate that I have ever seen. I died and went to heaven on this day. We went in the museum, all the while smelling of delicious chocolate, and learn the entire history of it and how it is processed and such. Then of course the quality control department (the visitors) is where we actually get to have some of that beautiful warm liquid on a crunchy wafer. (I did hand them my cv just in case they have an opening for me :)” (more…)
