Today I had a visit to the Viennese flea market. It was delightful to see the foods and other items. This was a beautiful example of the multi—ethnicity of the city, as individuals from many different parts of the world were there.

The ballroom in which the concert took place was one where Johann Strauss directed some of his waltzes!

My afternoon included a trip to the Prater. I saw the many green spaces which were part of this park. The inclusion of there natural parks created a lovely environment. I was glad that my Ringstrasse reconstructed group chose to include many green spaces!

My evening consisted of a Mozart and Strauss concert at Stadtpark. The ballroom in which the concert took place was one where Johann Strauss directed some of his waltzes! Hearing this concert (which included dance and vocal performances) helped me to grasp the “pop” nature of the Fin-de-siecle Viennese waltzes. The pomp and “showy” appearance of the Viennese culture was evident in this show.
