Cheers Boston!

James83 has visited no places in Boston

Okay so leaving off from the last entry, the highlight of Sunday was the Duck tour of Boston. Its similar to the Viking tours, as the boat can go on land and water. Also they  have special themed conduckors who dress up, tell jokes and make you quack at random strangers, so its all good fun. Seen all the sites of Boston from the boat, and then went into the Charles river and back.

Also walked through the public gardens and Boston Common, which was nice on such a sunny day.

After that, I decided I would drop in 'Cheers' for a pint or 2. I think I deserved it after all that sightseeing! Now it wasnt bad, but it wasnt a Cheers type pub if ya know what I mean! The original idea for the Cheers bar was modelled on the pub that used to be there, now its pure tourist attractions, with giftshops thrown at you as soon as you walk in. Still, all said, it had a decent pint, and I can say Ive drank in Cheers. I toast to that (do dum chhh)!

On Monday I went to Province town on the ferry (but more on that in the seperate Capecod blog-check it out)

So Tuesday (today) is my last full day in Boston. Its miserable and rainy, much like Ireland, but without a good coat. Went down to the JFK museum, which was actually better than I had thought it would be. I don't usually go in for all that museum guff, but it was really good- movie and all, the guy is really inspiring. Maybe thats why Boston has the spirit it has, maybe Brian Cowen could come here and get some magic from it!

After that I visited Harvard, in Cambridge. It wasnt great to be honest, a bigger Trinity really, well I suppose its about the people and not so much the buildings, but it wasnt really awe-inspiring, still it was good enough for JFK, doesnt beat DBS though :P

Heading to New York tomorrow, not sure what to expect other than the pace to upped quite a lot. I will remember Boston as warm friendly city, easy to settle into!
