Mele Kalekimaka – Day 3
We’re all up by 2 or 4 or for me finally 5am!! Some went to church, others showered off the long plane ride from the day before, but we all lazily woke to the most spectacular views above Pearl Harbor, the entire southern ocean skyline in front, and Waikiki to the east with Diamond Head meeting our gaze. It’s a million dollar view for sure! Carlos and Carla get back from church by 7 and is on a mission to round the troops and go to breakfast. The only place open on the island seems to be Anna Millers – a Denny’s like Diner with anything imaginable on the menu. The 8 of us cram into a booth for 6 and within the hour we are stuffed with delicious banana pancakes, sweet bread French toast, Eggs all ways, turkey sausage, pork sausage, bacon, spam and not to be left out, Portuguese sausage. Again, full and hard to walk, we pile back in the minivan and head home to plan the next meal.
The boys decide on a last minute round of golf – so Carla, the kids and I decide to make it a lazy beach day. Weather was not on our side but we decided to head out anyway. We went to Ko Olina Resort (spectacular flora and landscaping) and drive into Lagoon 5 to find a nearly secluded cul de sac of a pond with huge man placed rocks at the mouth, the biggest waves crashing against them out in the ocean waters and then small lapping waves hitting our lagoon beach. It's nice to get some one and one time with Jerome's sister. Carla and I are really connecting!! It was very pretty and very safe for the kids. Sand was a bit rocky and coarse but we made sand castle after castle and fort after fort all so Carson to ask “ Can I wreck it yet Jen?” “Sure Carson, it’s yours” Stomp Stomp Stomp into and over my hardwork. “Ha Ha Ha – Look at that Jen” “Yes Carson – Good Job” “Jen make me another one” and on like that. Then we fed the ocean cause it was hungry, rinsed off and came back home to lay around and watch Harry Potter – all of us in bed!! It was a perfect day! Lots of laughing!!
Boys came home with some food, we ate and again were all in bed by 11ish – I’m ready for a night of party time!!
