The rooms here make it very easy for you to just keep sleeping, with the curtains blocking out the light (I would say sun if there was any!). We met up with a couple of our group at 10am and headed next door to Planet Hollywood’s Miracle Mile of Shops. We stopped first for breakfast at the “Earl of Sandwich”, where we enjoyed something similar to a bacon and egg McMuffin. After this it was time to browse the shops. Here I purchased a long scarf that I can disappear in and spent some time in the Sephora makeup and beauty store. Joe went a wandering to see what he could find while I did this. We only purchased a handful of things, including some much needed hand lotion to try and put some moisture back in our hands after the drying anti-bacterial hand gel. We then headed over to the box office at Caesers to pick up the tickets for the show we had purchased in November. We then walked down through the Forum shops and decided to stop for lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. We both opted for lunch salads and thoroughly enjoyed eating a healthy lunch. Unfortunately there was no room for the scrumptious cheesecakes and seven layer chocolate cakes on offer for dessert.

We then boaraded the Deuce bus and headed down the strip to the Fashion Show Mall. This place is a multi-storey shopping centre – a bit like Chermside, but with many high-end stores like Tiffany, Gucci and the like. I found a small gadget at the Brookstone store that measures your heart rate via a, infa-red finger ring. At 4pm we decided we should make a move, and decided to walk over the road to the Wynn Hotel and Casino. This proved hazardous as the rain was making the footpath very slimy and slippery. You could only take small steps to ensure you didn’t end up on your butt. Once across the road, we found that we had walked through the Wynn Promenade of shops before so decided to head home. We foolishly decided to walk home rather than take the bus, and it seemed to take forever and we got soaked in the rain, even though I had a small umbrella.
Feathers, Bling and that girl can sing!

We had an hour to try and dry out before we had to head out to one of the highlights of our trip – the Bette Midler – The Show Must Go On tour show. Having enough of the rain we decided to taxi it over to Caesers Palace. With a break in the rain, four of the group decided to walk over, and with the nightly traffic and the queue for taxis, beat us to the Colosseum. After a bag search on entry to catch any recording devices, we were seated in our Row six centre front seats. The Divine Miss M lived up to her reputation with colourful costumes, raunchy humour and of course her wonderful singing voice. She still has it at 63!

The group then headed down the Forum Shoppes mall towards the Atlantis forecourt where we did not have to wait long before the hourly show started. Here the statues come to life with Neptune and his children telling the story of Atlantis with fire and fountains. It was then back to the food court in the Casino for a nasty dinner of pizza before we decided to call it a night. My feet were aching from all the walking earlier in the day and Joe had developed a really sore throat which was temporarily soothed with a Jack on the rocks. Luckily the rain held off for the walk home, and I was very pleased to slip in to bed and collapse.
