Departure from Egypt

From World Tour 2010 in Cairo, Egypt on Feb 05 '10

Brisbird has visited no places in Cairo

Today is a very long day, with our flight from Cairo not until 11:45pm. After our final included breakfast of the tour, we headed back to the room to relax (me sleep) and do our final packing.  The latest check-out we could arrange was 3pm from our room and our airport pickup was not until 8.30pm. So we spent a couple of hours in the lobby cafe drinking coffee and reading etc. Around 6pm we decided to head to Roy’s Country Club for dinner, which was an American style buffet with salads, meats and sweet pies for dessert. It was then back to the lobby cafe for a final coffee before meeting up with the airport transfer. The trip to the airport seemed to take forever with the heavy evening traffic and once again the stop-start of the mini-bus was upsetting. Once there and through check-in, we went into the VIP lounge – which was pretty sad for a lounge. We were the only ones in there to start, so I changed the tv to CNN to hear some English for a change. Others started to filter in – mostly locals – but no one changed the channel!! We were ignored by the guy serving food and drinks to everyone though which I thought rude.

Once on the plane, there were not many people travelling business class, so I stretched out on the row in front across the three seats in an attempt to get some sleep. This was not very successful as it was a rough flight, and once we touched down in Madrid, I was keen to find a spot to try and catch some sleep. We found the Iberia 24hr lounge which was heaven – they even had a resting room with beds!! I pulled up one of these and nodded off before my head hit the pillow.

Waiting, waiting, waiting

Highly recommended tour company ” Husband and I went on the Grand tour with ( 2 visit Egypt ) and it was beyond our expectations. Egypt is an AMAZING country and 2 visit Egypt helped us to make our experience unforgettable. From Cairo down to Aswan and Luxor and ending by the white desert camping, the whole tour was run like clockwork as there was such alot to see in 15 days. Our tour guides were very informative, had great personalities and a sense of humour. Hotels were mostly good and very clean, the hotel in Aswan was littled tired but it was ok since we spent only one night there. The holiday was very well spent and everything went off without a hitch. We had seen all we wanted to see in Egypt and more. If you are looking for a professional tour company,i highly recommend you 2 visit Egypt. The official website of the company is www.2visitegypt.com I will write a detailed report soon..... Karen
