Beautiful Barcelona
From UK & India: A 9 month Adventure in Barcelona, Spain on Nov 14 '10
There were many sights to see in Barcelona. First, we walked through a street called La Ramblas. There were many people dressed up in costumes. If you wanted to take your picture with them you were supposed to put money in a liitle box beside them. There were many stands along La Ramblas selling things. There were these pet stands. They even had pigeons for sale as pets! Rishi wanted to buy a chinchila! There were also lots of flower stands and souvenier stands called "Hola!". We think we went to every one of the "Hola!" shops searching for Spanish Pokemon cards. Eventually we found them.
Next, we walked to the aquarium. On the way there we crossed a long bridge. In front of the bridge there was a Columbus statue. The base of it was tall and it had pictures on it. On one edge of the bridge there were fish leaping out of the water to catch bread that people were throwing.
The Barcelona Aquarium was the best aquarium we have ever been to see!
When we got into the aquaraium we saw fish and eels. We thought it was cute when the eels opened and closed their mouths. Next, we saw some small sharks and rays. Then, we saw tiger sharks and conches. Rishi was excited to see the conches because it was the first time we had actually seen the animal that lives inside the conch shell. After that we we walked through a tunnel that had many sharks, tropical fish, and more rays. It was a really long tunnel. We liked how many types of sharks they had. In other parts of the aquarium we saw things like puffer fish & penguins. Finally, we went inside a life sized model of a sperm whale that had tanks of Jelly fish inside. The Barcelona Aquarium was the best aquarium we have ever been to see!
By the time we finished seeing the aquarium it was time for lunch. We stopped at a restaurant to eat tapas. We ordered 5 or 6 tapas and shared. Nikhil liked the mini hot dog best. Rishi liked the small fried fish the best.
Then we took a taxi to a park called Park Guell. There is a famous statue of a lizzard there made out of mosaic tiles. There are mosaic floors and walls. There are tunnels made out of stone. You could also see the house of the person who made the park. It is a pretty tall house. We saw wild parrots in the trees. There were also people playing music there and people selling things. Park Guell was great, but that was the end of Barcelona for us. Barcelona was an awesome and amazing place.
