Hi, Thanks for dropping by! On the 6th January 2008 i shall be embarking on a for month trip, along with about 50 others from all around the globe, to attempt to cycle from Cairo to Cape Town. 10/6/08 Well i made it! I rolled into Cape Town on 10th May, to a grand welcome complete with dignitaries, flags, laughter and tears. Needless to say we had plenty of experiences and adventures on the way, but alas the infrastructure in some parts of Africa did not make keeping this blog up to date a easy task, so i will be attempting to "back fill" it from the comfort of my base in UK. I tried to keep a daily diary, but even that was not always possible, due to illness, tiredness or (sometimes) alcohol. So i intend to write as if i am still riding, however sometimes, it might be difficult for me to ignore my hindsight, so if i feel i need to include some modified thoughts, i will try to acknowledge the fact. Thanks for reading this. Clive 18th July 2008 I had only been home for two months when the "bug" got me again, so I'm off again for a while. This time i am attempting to cycle from New York to Las Vegas, on my own and unsupported. Its gonna be a different sort of trip from the last one. 17th October 2008 Well, thats that, another Continent covered! Back home now to sort out photos and back fill the blog, the comments above for the Africa trip apply to this one as well, i just hope i can stay here long enough to actually finish it this time! August 2009 It's time to 'JOGLE my E2E', that is ride my bike from John O'Groats to Lands End on an End to End journey of Great Britain. I am attempting this ride, partly because it is a "classic" GB tour, and also to get myself back up to speed (!), in fitness and equipment for a similar ride in New Zealand in October, to make it E2Ex2! This leg of the two part expedition will be done as a solo, self supporting tour, while the second (NZ) leg will be a team effort with my friend Martin, with the overall project acting as a fundraiser for the RNLI. As always, i will be trying to capture the ups and downs ( both emotional and physical ), of the journey in words and photos (via Flickr). All subject to my ability to get on line, or to have the strength and will power to put my thoughts into words in my notebook. Such ability is often random, therefore this record will mainly be a retrospective from the comfort of home, but in order to maintain the feeling of 'freshness', i will try to avoid editing my thoughts, such as they are, too much. So if i seem to be rambling, ranting, or romanticizing, please take into account the conditions in which these thoughts and emotions first flitted across my fevered, cold, wet, and some times lonely brow.
