Our flight is Cancelled, what do you mean cancelled!

Today was our day for travelling from Vegas to New York via Dallas. Got up at 4am (after going to sleep at midnight) and went for my last drive in the USA. Of course noone told us where to drop the car off, but eventually found the Alamo drop off place.

The flight to Dallas went well. As soon as we got there we checked in to the American Airlines Admiralty Club for a hot cuppa and rest for one hour. Moved out to the gate only to find that the flight had been cancelled due to mechanical problems.

Not quite New York..

The rest of the afternoon was an adventure as we travelled via the skylink airtrain between terminals C and D to try our luck on the standby lists for flights to New York. Of course all those other people who were on our flight were doing the same thing - so at 4:30 we gave up on the idea and returned to the Admiralty Club. They gave us our confirmed boarding passes for a flight the next day, and also vouchers for the Emabssy Suite hotel - right next to Big Bucks Brewwery and Steakhouse (you know what they say - They do everything bigger in Texas!!).

Caught the complimentary shuttle over to the hotel and then the check-in guy gave us toiletries to try and freshen up - cause our luggage went to NY without us. We had a very nice meal at the hotel and then all went to sleep to catch up for the missed sleep from the night before.

Up early again the next day for our second attempt to get to NY. Keep your fingers crossed for us....
