Today was a relaxing day taking the Hop-on-hop-off bus around the different quarters of Paris. We first hopped off at Notre Dam to view this magnificent church with its famed stained glass windows. It must have taken many, many years to create and mount these windows, let alone build this church.

It was again a very cold morning and we went on the hunt for a pair of leather gloves for Joe (yes - even Joe gets cold here!). We didn't have too much success, only finding a semi-warm non-leather pair for him to wear. We hopped on a different bus route which took us into the Montparnasse part of Paris. This was the bohemiem part of Paris with all the artist studios etc. We got off the bus here in search of a loo but instead found a nice place to have lunch. After this we pounded the pavement trying to find a Starbucks coffee house, where we could both satisfy our caffee and bladder requirements. Unfortunately none could be found so we crossed our fingers and used one of the public toilets. This wasn't that bad - as long as you didn't want any toilet paper!!!

Here lies Bonapart - he's dead you know...

We boarded the bus again and headed for the Invalides which was a place Loius XIV built for the sick and poor in Paris to get them off the streets. It is now the buriel plave of Bonepart. We didn't go in to see his crypt, instead enjoying the (finally) warm Paris son waiting to board the next bus.

After what seemed forever, the bus finally came and we had a short trip to the Concorde where we got off and walked to a major shopping centre - the Lafaette Gallaries. This turned out to the floors of designer clothes and items which was way too expensive to even look at. We walked the streets after this, finding a small convienience store where we picked up some fresh salads, nuts and fruit for a quiet dinner in our room.
