Today was Joe's birthday and we spent the day on the hop-on-hop-off bus. First we got off at the Eiffel tower and got in line to go up to the top level. We waited about 20 mins to get in the lift which took us to the 2nd level. We then had to get into another line to get in the lift to go up to the 3rd level. It was very very cold waiting in this line and the wait was we think about 45 mins. Once we got to the top it was much warmer and the views spectacular. We took lots of photos. Believe it or not we had to do the lining up thing again to get down to the ground again on both the 3rd and 2nd floors. When we got down to the ground we raced in to the sun to try and warm up as we were frozen to the core.

We got on the bus again and switched loops and went exploring up in the Montmartre sector. It had a very market like feel to it. We walked up the hill and hopped on the Finnicular which took us up the top of the small mountain to see an old church. There were a lot of people just sitting in the sun and enjoying the view of Paris.

We then made our way back to the Eiffel Tower to join our Night Segway Tour of Paris. After a quick training session with the segways we were on our way seeing the sites of Paris as the sun went down. Joe and I had done this once before during the day and the night tour took the same path, but it was nice to see the sites at night time. It was a perfectly fine evening with a definite chill in the air. My segway unfortuately had an "argument" with the edge of a footpath and I was on my butt on the footpath before I knew it. Luckily no blood or lost skin, but a very sore shin which has turned into a bruise the size of my hand.

At the end of the tour, we were all happy to get off the machines as we had been standing up for three and a half hours non-stop and just wanted to sit down. It was 11pm and we were starving. We stopped at a local cafe and had pizza and coffee to try and warm up and I think it was the best meal we had in Paris. This was our last night in Paris as tomorrow we are off to Rome.
